WE ARE A PARTNERSHIP FOR GROWTH

Welcome from the chairman

Welcome to the first of our monthly e-bulletins which aim to give a regular update on some of the key projects we're involved in.

The West of England Local Enterprise Partnership works with many organisations across the public, private and academic sectors, with a remit to encourage sustainable economic growth,  and create new jobs.

We do this in a number of ways: by supporting the growth of key industry sectors; by driving innovation and the development of new technologies; by working with our local universities, colleges and schools to ensure our region has the skills we need for the future; by supporting SME business growth; and by making our region attractive to investors and existing businesses through improved transport, environmental and broadband infrastructure.

We're currently working on the development of a Strategic Economic Plan (SEP) - an ambitious, multi-year plan that identifies how we will stimulate growth in our region. It will provide the basis of a negotiation with Government for a share of their £2 billion per annum Local Growth Fund pot. Find out more in the article about the SEP and look out for updates each month.

I hope you find this interesting.  We welcome your feedback - please email your comments to catherine.frankpitt@westofengland.org
