Industrial Strategy response

Industrial Strategy response

The West of England has responded to the Government’s Industrial Strategy. In setting out our local priorities and challenges we have highlighted some specific proposals on how these might be addressed.

As a connected city region, the West of England is a net contributor to the Treasury with a proven record of innovation delivered by our highly skilled workforce and entrepreneurs. With a new devolved governance structure, the West of England offers huge potential to trial innovative and ambitious plans leading to increased productivity and a flourishing local economy.

The Industrial Strategy is designed to build on the strengths of the UK to enable all parts of the country to succeed. This will help to deliver a high wage, high-skilled, competitive economy that will have a positive impact on people's lives throughout the UK.
